In this electronic opera, the girlies 💅🏼💄💋 will have to demonstrate the ability to answer a #thought-provoking question, the same ones they answer online 🖥️ everyday: Who are you? What do you look like? What is your dream? 😴

The scenography concept was that our identity does not so much depend on ourselves, but rather on those we are in a network with. For this I wanted to work with very stretchy material and created 6m high socks that represented neurons and internet cables; or trees for many of the viewers. The actors move in the socks and form connections to each other as the opera progresses, so they are more and more affected by each other’s actions. At some point they clump together and present a compound more-than-human identity, as opposed to depicting individuals. Towards the end, the protagonist is enveloped by this clump, and in trying radically find an identity outside the network transforms into a horse, only to be immediately taken up by the network again.
